Notes: Another new(ish) cuvée from the Valenzuela family. Some of the Merlot that usually goes into their 1368 blend. Delicate fruit, with some classic blood and spice, warmth from the sun, all balanced by a lick of acidity.

Manuel Valenzuela was born in Grenada in the mid 1940s and as an adult moved to Paris to escape Franco’s regime. He returned to the Alpujarras in the late 70s and bought Barranco Oscuro in 1979. The area had once been heavily planted with vines and was a significant producer of wines before being decimated by phylloxera.
