Notes: MAGNUM A very special wine. From vines 1,368m above sea-level (one of the highest vineyards in Europe). Aged 18 months in old barrels, it has a silky, easy-drinking quality that belies its fullness and weight. The extra ageing here has produced a wine of incredible length and complexity.

Manuel Valenzuela was born in Grenada in the mid 1940s and as an adult moved to Paris to escape Franco’s regime. He returned to the Alpujarras in the late 70s and bought Barranco Oscuro in 1979. The area had once been heavily planted with vines and was a significant producer of wines before being decimated by phylloxera.
